Dance of the Vampires

First Stuttgart and Hamburg, now Berlin: Vampires are everywhere and you can't elude them. More than 4 million viewers have seen the show all over Germany! The story is about vampire killers, bloodsuckers and true love.
Vampire-explorer Abronsius and his assistant Alfred are on their way through Transylvania searching for new "items". In the snowy woods the two find an accommodation in a guesthouse, lying just below a majestic castle. There it is that Alfred falls in love with the beautiful daughter of their host: Sarah. She, however, is much more interested in the mysterious Count Krolock, a vampire residing in the castle. He invites her to his well-known Midnight ball and Sarah accepts - not knowing that she shall be made to the likes of him.

Professor Abronsius and Alfred follow Sarah to the castle to protect the girl. Soon enough the three of them are surrounded by the clan of Krolock and it's only now that they realise the danger they're in.
The film comedy of 1967 "The Fearless Vampire Killers or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are In My Neck" by Roman Polanski was developed and adapted for the stage version in Vienna, where it received rave reviews at the opening night in 1997. Only one year later, in 1998, it won the Musical Award in six categories.

The staging of the vampire film convinces with a mix of esprit and thrill. The songs of composer Jim Steinman range between pop-rock and soul, the lyrics by Michael Kunze complete the music to a whole. Wild dancing scenes, unique singing, and scenic effects in front of an impressive setting as well as detailed costumes make this musical a "haunting" experience.
