The variety of cultural wealth in Hamburg is considerably enhanced by a dense avant-garde scene with their own initiatives and locations. Currently there are about 40 of these unusual venues, from artists' homes to multifunctional locations. They are distributed all over town, from Altona to Elmsbüttel to Bergedorf.
