Shopping

Würzburg Domstrasse, copyright Thomas Huth
Würzburg is the main shopping town for the whole Main-Franconia region. The shops range from vast department stores to exquisite designer boutiques. Those on Domstrasse and Schönbornstrasse in Würzburg's extensive pedestrian zone are mostly department stores and fashion chains. Smaller shops with exclusive ranges are located on Juliuspromenade. When you need a break, there are numerous cafés and wine bars, and in summer, beer gardens as well.

Würzburg - the heart of Franconian wine country
Franconian wine, in unusually shaped bottles known as bocksbeutel, is a souvenir to be savoured. Renowned vineyards and famous old-established Würzburg wine estates such as Bürgerspital zum Heiligen Geist, Juliusspital and Staatlicher Hofkeller offer guided tours once a week. They also have restaurants and sell wine direct to the public. The Am Stein Ludwig Knoll and Reiss estates have also helped to establish Würzburg's reputation as the heart of the Franconian wine region.
