Nature & greenery

Würzburg Hofgarten palace garden, copyright CTW
The late-baroque Hofgarten palace garden is the magnificent venue for a wide range of concerts, during the Mozart Festival and on other occasions. The Ringpark runs in a semicircle around the old quarter on the site of the former town fortifications. The Regional Garden Show Park is situated in a picturesque setting between the banks of the Main and Marienberg Citadel. Around 10,000 different species of plant are grown in the university's botanical gardens.

Hofgarten palace garden
The Hofgarten palace garden is dotted with statuary and has highly ornate rococo wrought-iron gates by J. Georg Oegg.

Wine Trail
The Stein Wine Trail is a four kilometre circular walk with panoramic views of one of the most famous wine-growing regions in Germany. Stroll along on a self-guided tour and discover the important cultural legacy of wine making. Information boards explain how the scenery has been shaped by viticulture, how charitable foundations finance themselves and the connection between Goethe and Stein wine.
