Food & drink

Trier Market square, copyright Michael Jeiter
Regional specialities - ideally partnered by fine local Moselle-Saar-Ruwer wines - are served at inns, cosy little winegrowers' taverns and chic restaurants.

Schlemmereule Restaurant
This restaurant in the courtyard of Walderdorff Palace perfectly combines its historical setting with an unpretentious lightness of touch. Guests can enjoy light, fresh regional dishes with a French influence. An excellent selection of wines complements the delicious food.

Kesselstatt Palace Restaurant
With its elegant, high-ceilinged rooms, ornate stuccowork and terracotta walls, the restaurant is the epitome of baroque living. Seasonal dishes with a regional flavour, cooked using ingredients fresh from the market are complemented by the tasteful table settings. The daily-changing selection of fish dishes with a twist is worth of note.

Krim, Le Resto du Sud
Restaurant with a mediterranean ambience, a bistro section and a charming terrace. House specials are mediterranean fish dishes and French-style fruits de mer.
