Food & drink

Rostock Pavement café, copyright Irma Schmidt
Rostock has a large number of restaurants, and there truly is something for every taste. The region is particularly well known for its fish dishes, of course, which come in every imaginable variation. But kale with raisins, honey-roast ribs and apples in dripping are also traditional regional dishes.

Fish restaurants
As a port town directly on the Baltic Sea, visitors can enjoy freshly caught fish at Rostock's numerous fish restaurants.

Restaurant Reuters in the Steigenberger Hotel Sonne
The team is influenced by the strengths of regional cuisine. Lovers of unusual desserts need look no further than Reuters Teekiste ("tea chest"): Earl Grey mousse, green tea sorbet, East Frisian cappuccino and rooibos parfait).
