Nature & greenery

Kiel Schilksee lake, copyright LH Stadt Kiel
You'll find "Little Kiel“ park and the Hiroshima park right in the centre of town. Schrevenpark with its large waterfowl sanctuary is also a popular beauty spot. Düsternbrooker Gehölz, a wooded park close to the Hindenburgufer promenade, is ideal for longer walks.

Düsternbrooker Gehölz
Both locals and visitors flock to Düsternbrooker Gehölz, a park full of unspoilt countryside and mature trees, to enjoy leisurely walks, challenging trails and magnificent views of the firth.

Schilksee lake
Schilksee lake is a particularly popular waterside attraction where visitors can enjoy nature and culture, sailing and bathing, action-packed activities and relaxation. Highlights include the Olympic centre and the cliffs. But the hinterland can be just as interesting. There is an excellent network of marked trails leading through extensive areas of intensive farming and forest.
